Backbone 409, un encuentro entre proyectos que construyen activamente infraestructuras para un Internet libre desde un punto de vista anticapitalista: servidores autónomos, redes abiertas, servicios en linea, plataformas, hardware abierto, software libre, etc.

Las revelaciones recientes sobre la vigilancia masiva del Estado y las corporaciones han hecho la idea de un Internet libre más oportuna que nunca, generando al mismo tiempo interés popular en el tema. Algunas personas quieren que les proveamos de soluciones, muchas otras están interesadas y buscan maneras de involucrarse.

Estamos organizando un evento de dos días mezclando mesas redondas con talleres prácticos en seguridad, divulgación, compartir conocimientos, usabilidad, sostenibilidad, sinergias entre proyectos, asuntos legales, etc.

Para superar la barrera del lenguaje, que muchas veces excluye a los hispanohablantes del sur de Europa y Latinoamérica del discurso anglosajón y viceversa, nos comprometemos a proveer de interpretación simultánea.

The recent revelations about mass surveillance by states and corporations made the idea of a free Internet more topical than ever before, and at the same time generated popular interest in the topic. There are people who are looking at us to provide solutions and many others who just got interested about the topic and look for ways to get involved.

We are organizing a two-day event mixing round table discussions with practical workshops on security, outreach, knowledge sharing, usability, sustainability, synergies between projects, legal issues, etc.

To challenge the language barrier which often excludes Spanish speaking people from Southern Europe and Latin America from the Anglo-Saxon discourse, and the other way around, we will provide simultaneous interpretation.
